30 decembre 2019

A paradisiac archipelago with landscapes as magnificent as they are varied, Guadeloupe offers a rich range of activities. Whether you are athletic or a horse lover, fond of nature or culture, with or without children, you will  inevitably find happiness on one of its islands.

Nautic Activity

Immerse yourself in the turquoise water of Guadeloupe. Whomever speaks of Guadeloupe immediately thinks of white sandy beaches and coconut palm trees. Walk on the “postcard” beaches located at  Grande Anse, St.Anne, St. François, Bois Jolan amongst others. Oftentimes, when you walk short distances from the various beaches you can find hot springs where you can enjoy a nice long swim. And if you really want to dive deeper you can explore the underwater fauna at the Cousteau reserve.

Admire the natural treasures of Guadeloupe. Here is a small, non-exhaustive list:

  • The cliff of Caye Plate in St. Louis, at the tip of the Grande Vigie… for lovers of rocky landscapes

  • The mangrove

  • Botanical Garden

  • The tropical forest ( can be found by following the Traversée road)

  • The islands of Les Saintes, La Désirade, Marie-Galante ( via ferry)

Hike in the heart of Guadeloupe’s wilderness. For those who are more athletic in nature, there are a multitude of hiking trails surrounded by unspoiled nature. There are amazing locations for hiking such as the ascent of the Soufriere volcano, the Sofaïa loop, Trace des Contrabandiers, the Trace des Ruisseaux etc. Spoil your children, take them out to the giant slides of Karukera Land, let them discover the exotic caribbean animals at the Mamelles Park or better yet let them observe the marine animals such as dolphins and whales.

Things to do in Guadeloupe

What to do in Guadeloupe?

Guadeloupe, a little piece of paradise is the ideal location for your vacation. Whether you come with family, friends or as lovers you can enjoy at your leisure the beach, bathing under a waterfall, a boat ride, mingling at a bar or dining at restaurant.

A little bit about the island

Guadeloupe enjoys a tropical climate all year round. It averages a temperature of 30°C (86°F) .Due to this, locals do not generally concern themselves about the meteorological forecasts from day to day. For your accommodations you have various choices amongst hotels, luxury villas, and bed and breakfast locations.

Public transportation is limited therefore it is highly suggested that you rent a car for your travels. We suggest renting a car at the airport as there are a varied selection of vehicles at this location. Early booking can get you better rates.

Our Advice: Rental Car Company Choices

Choose a local rental car company! They are natives to the island and are in a better position to offer their customers a personalised welcome and practical advice about the island. Avoid the search engines and sites that compare prices for the best rental car deals. Oftentimes, rental car companies present on these search engines pay a commission on each booking. Renting directly from a regional rental car company more than likely in most cases will get you a great deal at the best price. (Its alot like reserving your hotel stay directly from the hotel instead of from a search engine website).

This is the case at ALWEGO an independently owned family owned business. We give price advantages to those who choose to trust Alwego for their transportation needs.
